Description
The US health care system has rapidly evolved from delivering health care to managing health care to now requiring Value Based Care. Contributing factors include escalating costs, demand for quality care, and the rapidly aging population alongside significant innovation. This evolution has resulted in a marked change in risk potential of key stakeholders and resultant need to look at the economic and financial drivers. This course will introduce the intermediate student to the concepts of risk and value flow in the US health care economy. The course will reveal the mysteries of contracting and rebating terminology to better understand Outcomes Based contracting. Value Frameworks will be used as a guidepost to value quantification and evidence generation. Finally, a hands-on exercise on developing a complete Value Proposition story will be conducted.
